Julie Rice

I’m currently working for the Borough of Barnsley swimming club and Your swim Academy Performance Squads.

I have been involved in coaching since 2019 planning sessions and attending meets with swimmers from the club. Part of my duties as a coach for the juniors development squad is to ensure they work to the programme set via the head coach and that all techniques and skills are at the highest level in order to progress to the next squad.

During my time as a coach I have helped swimmers achieve County and Regional finals and medal positions, as well as swimmers selected for the England Development Programmes.

I step in and help when needed on the other squads in the programme to cover holidays etc, and I also coach our link squads in order to develop our future club swimmers.

when I’m not coaching I enjoy gardening, looking after my grandchildren and decorating.
