About

I am highly motivated to begin a career as an apprentice in the automotive trade, where I can turn my strong interest in cars into a practical, lifelong skill. I have a genuine curiosity about how vehicles work and a real drive to learn how to diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and maintain high standards of workmanship. I enjoy hands-on tasks and problem-solving, and I take pride in staying focused, working hard, and seeing a job through to a high standard.

I am particularly drawn to an apprenticeship because it offers the chance to learn directly from experienced professionals while gaining real industry experience, allowing me to develop both my technical ability and my work ethic at the same time. Alongside my passion for automotive work, I also have a strong interest in a range of skilled trades including bricklaying, joinery, plumbing, plastering, and electrical work. These industries appeal to me because they require precision, practical thinking, and dedication—qualities I am committed to developing.

I am eager to build a solid foundation of skills that will make me a valuable and reliable member of any team, and I am not afraid of hard work or new challenges. I am dependable, willing to learn, and determined to succeed, and I am ready to put in the effort required to become a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in delivering high-quality work every time. I have successfully completed an online Level 2 Car Mechanics course, where I developed knowledge and practical understanding of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and automotive systems.

This course has strengthened my passion for the motor trade and improved my technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of workshop safety and procedures.

Experience

PE Assistant at Forge Valley School (2024-05 – 2024-06)

During my two weeks of work experience as a PE teacher, I developed a range of valuable transferable skills. I improved my communication skills by clearly explaining instructions and demonstrating activities to students of different abilities. I also built confidence in leading small groups, helping to organise sessions, and maintaining a positive and engaging environment.

The experience strengthened my teamwork as I worked alongside teachers and supported pupils during lessons. I developed patience and adaptability by responding to different behaviours and learning needs, as well as a strong sense of responsibility when helping supervise activities safely. Overall, it helped me become more confident, organised, and comfortable working with others in a structured environment.

Windscreen Fitter (2025-06 – 2026-03)

During my time as an apprentice windscreen fitter, I developed hands-on experience in removing and installing vehicle glass safely and efficiently. I learned how to use specialist tools and materials, prepare surfaces correctly, and ensure all fittings met safety and quality standards. I also built strong attention to detail, as precision is essential to ensure proper sealing and vehicle safety.

Working in a fast-paced environment helped me improve my time management, teamwork, and ability to follow instructions from experienced technicians.
