I attended the challenging training to gain a position at HMS Raleigh, Cornwall. I took part in a 10-week unique combination of military and vocational training, including a wide variety of sports to promote fitness, agility, and adventurous training activities to provide physical and mental challenges. Developed personal skills such as self-discipline, teamwork, and leadership, through navigational exercises, command tasks and opportunities to lead the groups.

This was followed by 28 weeks professional training to qualify as a Chef and with further specialist training, I fully qualified as a submariner. Working as a key member of a submarine crew I developed personal skills such as self-discipline, teamwork, and leadership.

Apprentice Joiner - HRG Development

I carried out all aspects of joinery whilst maintaining safe working practices whilst on site.

• Main roles were as a timber kit erector, which involved the erection of timber kit systems and finishing the roof timber structure
• Insulated the interiors of buildings, sheeting walls and wall finishing such as skirting and facing boards
• Continual on the job training and learning covered areas such as the fundamentals of working with joinery tools and power tools, with site safety being at the forefront of all training
