Civils Operative - Edge Telecommunications

(2023-01)

• Test rodding and roping using a cobra rod to ensure there is access between the BT chambers without any blockages.
• Pull fibre cable through the BT chambers and install an A1 kit.
• Span and install cable from one pole to another whilst ensuring health and safety procedures and regulations are followed.
• Prepare the cable in the BT chamber for splicing and reconnect the cable to either the top of the pole or the support kit in the underground chamber.
• Repair blockages by digging up the assigned area on the permit and test rodding to find what is causing the blockage. Once identified, the necessary steps are taken to fix the issue and the area is reinstated.
• Build chambers ensuring that the site is set up in line with health and safety requirements and using a Cat and Genny to identify any electricity cables or ducts and making sure there are no gas or water pipes running through the area. Once the chamber is built I lay the concrete floor and connect the duct from the nearest BT chamber whilst taking vital photos of each stage of the build.
• Float fibre cables by using a floating machine to blow air down the pipes before pushing the cable to the end point. If there are any blockages I have to check every BT chamber on the map until the problem is identified and ensure there is enough cable to reach the end.
• Recently passed EUSR for water meter installs

Stores Controller - NCD Network

• Be the first point of contact for build partners and dealing with stock
• Issue stock in line with company approach and policy
• Conduct weekly stock take on internal and contractor's stock
• Ensure accurate record keeping of stock
• Transfer stock from the warehouse into an allocation queue on Simpro system
• Check and receipt all deliveries and scan and store paperwork
• Ensure yard and warehouse is tidy and dispose of waste cables
• Contact external parties to collect empty cable drums
• Collect site equipment around North West once the engineers is finished on site
• Track stock in warehouse and collect from supplier when required
• Ensure engineering equipment are kept in stock at all times
• Test the fire alarm weekly and record in the Fire Log Book
• Complete a weekly van check as per company policy

Section Assistant - Stax

• Responsible for timber and building section as well as helping other aisles when required
• Pick orders for customers helping with any enquiries
• Unload containers when they come in
• Special ordering certain items for customers that we do not stock and discussing queries such as planning and building a kitchen
• Renewed reach truck licence and trained on how to go up in a cage and drive with a cage safely
