Care worker Adult Social services My role in this job was to assist with getting our service user up and out of bed, assist with bathing, dressing, brushing teeth, brushing hair, toilet duties, dressing, feeding, preparing meals, assistance with feeding, medication, cleaning, tidying, bills, days out, shopping, undressing and getting them settled for the night. I learnt the value of patience and understanding. I have training in moving and handling, hoists, turn stands, banana boards, bed pans, catheter change, how to dress open wounds and how to approach many different illnesses and disabilities.
