Clinical Scheduling Officer at Southeast Coast Ambulance Service (2018-01 – Present)
Responsible for planning, coordinating and managing rota schedules for approximately 400 staff within the Operational unit using Global Rostering System (GRS) platform. Accountable for allocating shifts to staff either on relief weeks or flexible working agreements six weeks in advance. This includes planning to demand taking into account the working time directive, skill mix, compliance and staff wellbeing.
Included in my role is managing annual leave and TOIL requests in line with polices and allocation allowances and adjusting allocation in line with staffing levels and policy. Planning mandatory training courses, development days and appraisals. Working closely with Operational Team Leader's, Operational Managers and Operational Unit Mangers throughout the day to keep the Operational Unit running smoothly and efficiently for the wellbeing of both staff and patients.
This involves horizon scanning for potential events or times of year where there will be increased demand or risk and planning accordingly to ensure resilience. Taking calls and responding to emails from staff regarding sickness and other absences, shift changes and other scheduling enquires.
