Hi there, My name is Katie Louise Mead. I'm 27 years old and married and live in the United Kingdom. I am very interested in the vacancy that has been advertised because I believe that I have the skills and knowledge that you are looking for in this position and I'm keen to learn new things along the way.

I have had experience working in customer service and shop work in a busy airport and working with children on special needs transport and I also have worked in a retirement home and been a carer. I work well with in a team and on my own initiative i am hard working i have a keen eye for detail and always a pleasure to help other when and were they need it i have a bubbly character and i am fun to be around but most of all i am hard working and i keep to my word want something done i make sure it is done with out a doubt. I am also good with instructions but you might have to show me once or twice because I have dyslexia and I work with being shown and told how to do something the first few times then I pick it up quickly afterwards and I'm on my way to a great further in this role.

Passenger Assistant - Special Needs Transport - ECL

Currently working for a company called ECL for 4 years and 2 months that specializes in transport for children with special needs. This job shows me how to be quick and think on my feet in this job as the children I have worked with have special needs and need to be cared for in a way that is different to the rest of us all. They need extra care extra support and a lot of patients and most of all to makeing sure they are safe and happy within their sounding on the journey from home to school and then from school to home.

• Within this role it is week day work only
• Trained for basic first aid training and wheelchair training
• Different medical needs that are assigned to the children you are looking after on my route
• Learnt new ways to communicate and how each child is different in their own way as communicative skills are important in this job
• Learnt to be patient and caring and compassionate and time management
• Creative in how to make the journey from home to school fun for the children on board

Worked for a 24x7 group for 6 years which is a specialized transport for children with home to school transport and from school to home then school to home. This job does the same work as ECL and they are the same that do special transport for children with special needs.

Carer - Fitzpatrick Home Care

Worked as a carer on the weekend for a company called fitzpatrick home care for 3 months. This care company specializes in giving care to clilets in their own home. You have to be patient and caring to the individual and you have to respect them in their own home and they are independent but need that extra help from yourselves.

When I was there I was hard working and eager to learn new things. I was polite and passionate about helping others and I have a caring nature and a heart of gold and would do anything I was asked with in reason.

• Moving them from their beds to the living room but using specialized equipment for moving them
• Worked on own and with another care sometimes depending on the type of job as two hands are better than one
• Walked from client to client and then got lifts with the other cares who I was on shift with
• Being shown how to do things by other people as I never had done something like this before and willing to learn new things on the job
• Left due to injury on my back and ankles from all the heavy lifting and putting strain on my body from this sort of work

I am polite and hard working and i was always up for a challenge as you wasn't allowed to write any orders down you had to do it remember them and then pass them onto the head chef and the sue chef and then once the orders was done i had the carry them on a big serving dish wich had 5 plates of food on there each time so my balancing skills was key in that role and being fast on my feet and being polite and patient with others too.

• Serving the residents with 3 meals a day from what was on the menu that day
• Serving hot drinks or choices of alcohol of their choice in a respectful and poliet manner and a smile
