I am a native speaker who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in illustration. I am currently undergoing teacher training and, by May time, I will have completed a PGCE at the University of Huddersfield. I also hold a 120 hour TEFL certificate.
Throughout the year so far, I have completed placement hours with a range of students, including mainstream and SEND high school, sixth form, and mature learners. This has provided me with a wealth of knowledge. My confident and friendly nature means I have been able to form strong teacher-student relationships; gaining respect from students, therefore increasing their motivation to learn.
I have created lesson plans, activities and learning aids to assist students in acquiring and retaining knowledge. I was also able to practice behavioural management, implementing safeguarding techniques, as well as improving my subject knowledge and, ultimately, my teaching ability.
My skills include outstanding verbal and written communication and reading comprehension. I am a confident and fast learner with a strong ability to work well, both as part of a team and autonomously. I have the proficiencies needed to monitor and assess the performance of students as well as my own teaching prowess – to reflect and implement ways to improve practice and efficiency.
I have a love for Portugal, having visited the country several times. I hope to unify my passion of travelling and teaching.
