I am looking for a new challenge I was a civil servant for 23 years in a technical role that involved me visiting individuals weekly.For the past 10 years l have been working as a support worker for 2 charities supporting people in the community to maintain independence and to reduce isolation. I am now looking for something new which can utilise my skills and ability to communicate with people and react quickly to changing situations. I am very comfortable with people and present a friendly accessible demeanour.
23 years as a Civil Servant (Valuation Office)valuing properties for Business Rates and Council Tax. Going out on visits, measuring and assessing property and utilising the computer system.
Full-time carer for my Mother in Law for a year providing practical and emotional support.
10 years as a support worker for 2 different charities, the first (British Red Cross)was supporting people on a short term basis to provide practical support and assist in building confidence and signposting. For the second charity (Friendship at Home) I supported people over 60 to provide information and support to reduce loneliness and isolation and liaising with volunteer befrienders and making introductions to isolated people .
