The main tasks were taking care of the children and making sure they were happy, safe and that their wellbeing was always a top priority whilst in my care. Helping them to reach their targets and progressing in their learning.
Skills that were required within this position ranged from having child development knowledge, being empathetic, infant care skills, along with interpersonal skills. As the position was very fast paced you had to be extremely energetic and have one hundred percent focus everyday. I also used daily skills such as problem solving and teaching. A basic health knowledge was also required.

Throughout my time at Smyths I have progressed through different roles during my time with the company, I started as a sales assistant, progressed to the supervisor position and then I was offered the duty manager position. My role as duty manager is to lead a team towards meeting all of our targets and to help them perform to the best of their abilities each and everyday.
