Just 20 years old, I recently received my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. To be able to achieve this at a young age is certainly one of my proudest achievements, which proves my dedication, determination, and a very strong work ethic. During my studies, I was able to find out that I have a genuine passion for the field of healthcare and what it means to positively impact people’s lives through patient-centered and empathic treatment.
Through my work with children, rehabilitation patients, and my experience in home health, I have improved my skills when it comes to effective communication and teamwork and have learned to always be empathic, patient, and pay attention to details. Along with obtaining certifications in EKG, Phlebotomy, and CPR, I have also had the opportunity to work with different types of people and collaborate with healthcare providers.
Even though I am still at the start of my professional journey, I have put in much effort to create a good base of knowledge about healthcare and gain all possible chances for further improvement. At the end of my journey, my goal is to obtain a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD). I dream of being able to provide people with care and assist them to regain their independence and fulfill all goals that will make them happier and more satisfied with their lives.
Every experience I acquire makes me move forward to this dream.
