Within this job role I worked closely with dementia / Alzheimer's aswell as a wide variety of conditions requiring care. I did this placement between a hospital step down bungalow and a dementia bungalow at Havelock court Backworth, were I worked independently and in a pair. These practices included distributing medication and carrying out house work, washing the customer always following a personalised care plan around their wants, needs and wishes and most importantly the customes voice!

I have completed a wide range of training with the company Everyday care Bradbury centre.

• I demonstrated a strong person-centred approach, promoting independence, dignity, choice and respect while supporting individuals with disabilities and a range of vulnerabilities.
• I demonstrated compassion, patience and empathy when supporting those in the care home. This was done by using strong listening and communication skills to build trusting and positive relationships.
• As a First Aid trained member of staff, I remained calm and professional when responding to unexpected situations and a wide range of health conditions and incidents.
• I followed policies, procedures and safeguarding guidelines effectively while ensuring individuals felt reassured, respected and supported.
• I confidently assessed situations and provided appropriate initial support while maintaining a professional and trusting relationship.
• I demonstrated strong caring qualities by being reliable, attentive and understanding, always prioritising the safety, wellbeing and individual needs of those in my care.
