I am a reliable, patient, hard-working, conscientious, confident individual who possesses a wide range of transferrable skills which have been developed throughout my career within various job roles. I have a methodical approach to my work and recognise the important of completing tasks of high quality, under time restrictions. I have a calm and caring demeanour and am always happy to help others.

I am a very capable person and enjoy learning new skills and broadening my knowledge in all aspects of my life. I have excellent communication skills and am confident dealing with people both face-to-face, via the telephone and in writing, albeit by letter or email. I am very pro-active and am always looking for ways to improve the trust's service.

I am always willing to take on extra duties and work extra hours when required to achieve and surpass a set target. I am keen to develop my career in a more dynamic role, utilising my existing skills. In past roles I have demonstrated the ability to work on my own initiative and am able to work effectively in teams and to be able to readjust roles from one situation to another in an ever-shifting work situation.

I have continued to develop myself whilst working for the trust, attending all training courses required within my job role. I also have a vast knowledge of many IT software packages. I have held a driving license for 8 years and am a fully competent, confident driver who is willing to travel between hospitals for work, if required.

Clerical Officer within Cardiothoracic Pre-Assessment Clinic - University Hospital of Wales - Heath Park, Cardiff, CF14 4XW

• Tracking all notes in and out of the pre-admission clinic via NHS PMS system.
• Search and collect any notes required by my colleagues via NHS PMS system.
• Booking patients into clinic, sending out letters confirming the same on correct Consultant/Nurse's letterhead.

• Reception duties working within a busy multi-disciplinary team, involving greeting patients and their families so experience with dealing with people sometimes emotional or under stress.
• Part of my duties whilst covering the reception were to maintain efficient and confidential systems and services to include ensuring that the correct signing in and out procedures were followed when visitors attended the unit.
• Attending all directorate meetings and preparing and circulating agendas, taking notes and drafting minutes, including circulation of minutes.
• To receive, open mail, to sort, distribute and prioritise as appropriate preparing standard letters where necessary.
• Maintaining department's sickness records. Monitoring staff absences and sending written requests to staff to ensure attendance of sickness interviews. During though interviews, I was responsible for taking minutes, accurately typing them up and ensuring clinical staff to include managers had immediate access to the same.
• Arranging meetings with clinical leaders or employees.
• Monitoring and reporting any maintenance problems within the department via CAB web, placing request to Estates ensuring these problems were dealt with swiftly.
• Providing secretarial and administrative support to all members of the directorate team, ensuring any problems were dealt with quickly and resourcefully.
• Updating patients' private and confidential information into Excel databases.

Theatre Stores Assistant - University Hospital of Wales - Heath Park, Cardiff, CF14 4XW

During my time spent working in the Theatre Stores, I undertook all essential training and developed my understanding of procedures and policies further and was a competent member of the team. I also increased my confidence and communication skills whilst dealing with a wide range of companies, staff within the department and Procurement department and senior theatre staff daily whilst ordering and chasing stock. Whilst working in the NHS, I am used to working in an environment where it is important to maintain confidentiality, data protection and be aware of child protection issues.

I am also aware of the importance of health and safety standards and able to follow policies and procedures correctly.

• Utilising NHS Oracle system to purchase general items, and also specific stock requested by various theatre staff.
• Rotating stock to ensure old stock is used before new. Therefore, reducing equipment waste and increasing NHS capital.
• Inputting all data in relation to goods onto the stock management system, enabling the department to keep track of any outstanding or lost orders. If any of the orders were not received, I would liaise with Procurement and/or the company. Thereafter, I would inform theatres if the products were on back-order and for how long they would be out of stock.
• Monitoring stock levels alongside fluctuations in usage, using any existing stock to help control the ordering so that we were never over or under order.
• Receiving and checking goods and recording this data onto the NHS Oracle system, and thereafter, store the supplies.
• Maintaining a complete audit trail of stock related activity ie. ordering, receipting, loans, hires and wastage.
• Conferring with both theatre staff and other employees to establish the requirements and how best to accommodate the same.
• Communicating via telephone with companies, Procurement and theatre staff to obtain information on relevant products, such as price, range, waiting time, product coding and suitability of items for the use in theatres.
• Responsible for keeping check on stationery & printing stock, ordering and distribution within my department.

Sports Teacher (Work Experience/Charitable work) - St. Joseph's Primary School - Cardiff

I have gained experience working with children whilst working teaching sports at St. Joseph's Primary School, this involved preparing lesson plans and teaching with some sole responsibility. During college, I studied BTEC sport.

While studying, I was required to part take in work experience in a school of my choice. I had the opportunity to work in the reception class at St. Joseph's RC Primary School, Cardiff. I helped in the class with the day-to-day activities as well as helping during the physical education classes and creating lesson plans for these lessons.

Carer (Charitable work) - HCPT - Lourdes, France

I am also a member of HCPT which is a charitable organisation that takes disabled and less fortunate children away for a week to Lourdes, France. During this period, I, as a Carer, oversaw the looking after of the child and making sure all the physical and emotional needs were met.
