Outside of work I enjoy playing football and softball. I play football most weeks recreationally with friends. I played softball and baseball during my time at the University of Nottingham softball and baseball society. I loved the society as I was able to experience both the recreational and social side with softball and the more competitive side with Baseball.
In my role as a junior data analyst at Capital Homecare, I worked closely with a Data analyst to analyse patients’ data to help enhance patient outcomes. We collected patient data like sleep, medication and carer visiting time, as through analyzing the collected data we were able to spot trends and patterns in certain patients.
In this dynamic role, I gained hands-on experience in database management and honed my skills in data analysis and visualization with SQL. I also learned about the importance of best practices to ensure the accuracy and compliance of our data analysis, as a big part of that data was protecting patient data through maintaining patient confidentiality and keeping data secure by, maintaining SQL databases to ensure data integrity and security while optimizing query performance.
In my role as a Laboratory Technician, I actively contribute to the efficient running of our laboratory facility by managing and maintaining stock levels. This includes placing orders for essential materials, chemicals, and equipment, a task critical to our operational success. As well as maintain the GCLP (Good Clinical Laboratory Practice) laboratory to strict ISO standards, while working in accordance with laboratory standard operating procedures.
I have a varied role in the laboratory from reagent preparation and sample processing to equipment maintenance.
One of the tasks I was given was regarding equipment maintenance was to find the different times equipment was due for yearly maintenance and find the best time to complete maintenance for all the equipment. As there had been an issue with too much equipment being due around the same time, I brought forward some of the maintenance to get an even spread.
