I am a hardworking and active person who enjoys learning new things. I am looking to secure fulltime work or an apprenticeship. I enjoy practical work and always give things a try, for example I built a shed for my mum in the garden one weekend. My brother is a trained mechanic, so I always ask questions and learn things from him. When I was at school, I took every opportunity to get work experience and build up my experience.

I work part time serving customers, answering telephone orders, computer orders and assistant with kitchen duties.

Paperboy

(2023 - 2025)

I deliver 27 papers in the afternoon 6 days a week. It was important for me to get a job while I was still at school as I'm a hard worker and wanted to get started earning money as soon I could. I enjoy being outside and like chatting to all my customers. Many are elderly so I think its important to make sure I'm friendly and chat to them. I often receive tips & Christmas cards from my regular customers.

Labouring - Local labouring company

(2024-10 - 2024-10)

I completed a paid work experience week with a local labouring company. During this I learnt many different skills and did various tasks. I worked to the best of my ability and got good feedback from the boss about my work and attitude.

• Painting an office building. I painted both the walls, and the woodwork ensure this was done to a high standard.
• I changed plug sockets to new fittings.
• I ripped out the old carpet from the office building and helped to lay the new flooring.
• I also helped to replace an internal window.
• I tidied up each site to make sure we were leaving the environment clean for the customer.
• When interacting with the clients I made sure I was polite and gave a good impression.

Work Experience - Aberdeen City Council Kitybrewster Vehicle Depot - Aberdeen

(2024-05 - 2024-05)

I completed a one-week work experience with the Aberdeen City Council Vehicle Depot team who look after the bin lorries and other council vehicles. I had to wear PPE and learned a lot about what it was like to work in a mechanic role with larger vehicles.

• I got to experience in road recovery and how to assess vehicles in a safe way in the street.
• I helped to change the battery of a truck which was in Cove on the side of the road.
• I changed tyres & oil on broken lorries at the depot.
• I also helped to rewiring vans in the depot.

Days Work Experience - First Bus

(2024-05 - 2024-05)

I spent a day at First Bus learning about the difference between the old buses and the new electric buses. We learnt about the differences in the engines and the mechanics of the buses. It was interesting to see how the buses and maintained and the upgrades that have been made. It showed me that there are a lot of differences between working on cars compared to larger vehicles like buses.
