Currently studying MSc Psychological Research at Bangor University. A dedicated and highly organised individual, with experience in dealing with a wide range of people. Passionate about mental health, eager to learn more about relevant topics and spread awareness about how to improve mental wellbeing. Ambitious about exceeding expectations in all circumstances.
Mentored fellow undergraduate students in groups and on a one-to-one basis to enhance their communication, public speaking, presentation and PowerPoint skills. Led weekly sessions to help students prepare their dissertation presentation by providing individual feedback upon the completion of the speeches, encouraging the group to move out of their comfort zone and engage in the sessions by introducing games that further improved the above skills. Worked one-to-one with students who had learning disabilities (such as dyslexia, ADHD, autism), and mental health issues.
Ensured their needs were met based on their personalised support plan. Also carried out administrative work on a weekly basis, handling confidential data and entering the students’ progress into Microsoft Excel.
Tutored special educational needs high school students - mainly EAL students but also students who struggled with their mental health and/or had autism, dyslexia, ADHD or other learning difficulties. Provided support in small groups, classroom settings and in the form of one-to-one sessions.
Volunteered in the local high school as part of a Sixth Form project, working as a teacher assistant. I helped EAL (English as an Additional Language) learners to improve their English and complete their schoolwork; also helped the students settle in by introducing them to classmates and teachers.
