Laibah Ejaz

In my spare time I like to bake many desserts to improve my skills. I also enjoy baking at college which gives me more confidence in baking. Every time I bake at college I bring the desserts to my family so they can taste and give me feedback on ways to improve my dish.

I am currently a student at City Of Glasgow College studying Bakery. Being a highly motivated and hardworking individual, I am determined to succeed at all times. I have a responsible approach to any task I am given. Whilst being an eager learner, I show interest in hands-on practical activities, with close attention to detail. An attitude I have developed to become a successful baker is to be loyal to my customers and accept my own mistakes. Overall I am a positive and enthusiastic person with a ‘can do ‘ attitude

I have undertaken work experience at a local children’s nursery. As part of this placement, I grew in confidence by working as part of a team as well as having the responsibility of looking after the children and being accountable to their parents. Hygiene was also a priority and I was responsible for making sure the children washed their hands regularly before taking part in activities and brushing their teeth after lunch. I feel these skills would also be important when working in a kitchen environment as team work and hygiene are especially important.
