I am applying for the role of Hairdressing Tutor as I am passionate about supporting learners to develop practical skills, confidence and employability within the hair and beauty industry. I bring extensive industry experience dating back to 1998 alongside strong Further Education teaching experience, allowing me to deliver engaging, relevant and industry‑led learning. I have been teaching hair and make‑up at Learning Curve Group since 2022, delivering both theory and practical sessions across vocational programmes.

My role involves planning structured lessons, delivering practical demonstrations, assessing learner work in line with awarding body criteria and providing clear, constructive feedback to support learner progress and achievement. I am experienced in supporting learners with a range of abilities and learning styles and use differentiated teaching strategies to ensure all learners can succeed. Alongside teaching, I continue to work actively within the hair industry as a freelance and mobile hairdresser, including wedding and occasion work.

I have also worked on numerous projects within the fashion and television industries. This ongoing industry involvement ensures that my teaching remains current, credible and aligned with professional standards, allowing learners to gain realistic insight into industry expectations and employability skills. I hold an NVQ Level 4 in Teaching and Assessing and a Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET), alongside a wide range of hair, barbering and make‑up qualifications.

I place a strong emphasis on health and safety, professionalism and safeguarding, and I work to create a supportive, inclusive learning environment where learners feel confident and motivated. I am enthusiastic about contributing to a college environment, supporting learner progression and working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
