Labourer at We Maintain Group (2024-08 – 2024-08)

During the summer holidays I was able to secure some work with We Maintain Group. The job itself was a refurbishment in Islington London. My time on site gave me a wider understanding of the Health and Safety procedures required on site, working in a team also different aspects of work required.

• Chasing out walls, Pulling cables, Moving materials around as required, Clearing of the site and general tidying
• Removed waste materials and ensured site cleanliness, promoting a safe working environment for all personnel
• Followed detailed instructions from supervisors to complete tasks accurately and within designated timeframes
• Assisted in site preparation, including clearing debris and setting up necessary equipment for construction projects
• Complied with and followed all safety standards and policies and wore protective equipment applicable to each job duty
• Disposed of excess materials and waste within target timescales to minimise health risks

Work Experience at Otley Rural For two days I was fortunate to be part of representing Otley Rural College at the Suffolk Show gaining invaluable hands-on experience. During these two days I manned part of the colleges stall which proved to be a hit with the younger attendees. Children could choose a blueprint then use foam bricks to construct their very own miniature wall.

My role was to encourage and guide them through the process as well as help them overcome challenges they faced. I spend time answering questions from interested members of the public about the bricklaying course and my personal experience. I have also been putting in shifts at the college workshop, this has involved a variety of tasks, from repainting the workshop to ensure a fresh and welcoming learning environment, to the clearing od rubbish along with ensuring the equipment is correctly stored and maintained.

Office Junior at Voluntary Diploma PLC (2025-05 – 2025-05)

This was and is when the opportunity arises on a voluntary basis at weekends. It has given me an insight into an office environment and some responsibility.

• Carry out small administrative tasks such as: organizing folders, preparing mailouts and Updating IT inventory ensuring the equipment is readily available for staff and in good working order
• Help to maintain the car park ensuring it is tidy, swept and free of any unnecessary hazards
