Lauren Gillon

I am a Film and creative writing student with an interest in production and editing. I am the content manager for Bailrigg FM where I schedule shows for the radio, approve content to air on the channel and played a role in organising Lancaster University's 2025 Battle of the Bands, a live music event streamed on multiple media platforms. Through my employment as a lesson coordinator at an equine facility, I have experience training and mentoring employees.

I'm a dedicated team player, proactive and with strong organisational skills and able to achieve company goals through exceptional planning and prioritisation and bar staff in a busy establishment. I have experience in customer service and time management on a tight schedule.

Content Manager - Bailrigg FM

• As content manager at Bailrigg FM I approve new pitched for radio shows, train presenters an approve content for air by ensuring it complied with OFCOM guidelines.
• As part of this role, I worked as part of the team organising Lancaster University's Battle of the bands, working backstage to ensure the acts were prepared to perform and all sound equipment was working correctly to remain on schedule.
• I also wrote articles for the radio's coverage of the 2024 Lancaster music festival.

Work Placement - BBC

(2023-06 - 2023-08)

My enthusiasm for film production arose from my work experience with BBC Get In, in which we were tasked with working in groups to produce a pitch for a series to deliver to industry professionals alongside a budget and location plan. This experience greatly improved my understanding of the industry, my ability to create elaborate plans and team-work skills. Another reason I found this experience valuable was that it enhanced by creative abilities by allowing me to covert my ideas to proposals that would allow others to clearly understand my creative vision.

Equine Lesson Staff and Coordinator - Daisynook and Oakhill Riding School

(2019-10 - 2024-10)

During my employment I was tasked with training and managing a team of volunteers, ensuring they were well-informed and capable of carrying out the tasks I delegated to them. I was entrusted with ensuring both horses and clients were prepared for the half an hourly lessons, which was initially challenging in a fast-paced environment but ultimately developed my effective time-management and organizational capabilities, as well as my ability to communicate with clients in a clear and efficient manner.

Events and Accommodation Staff - Lancaster University

(2024-09 - 2025-09)

• In this role I was required to show prospective students and their families around my accommodation, informing them on everything they need to know about living in student accommodation at Lancaster and answering any questions they may have on this to help them make the best decision for themselves about living on a university campus.
• I have also worked various graduation ceremonies at the university, requiring me to switch between welcoming attendees, serving drinks and catering food to the graduates.
