I’m a tech-savvy writer, editor and content strategist based in London available for hire. I consider myself an efficient generalist, aiming to unlock ideas with words that connect. I’m well-versed in digital transformation, technology, sustainability and AI in B2B and the creative industries.
I also have knowledge on queer culture (particularly books) and trending lifestyle, arts, sports and culture ideas. I have bylines for features and commercial content campaigns on New Statesman, Elite Traveler, Tech Monitor, City Monitor and Capital Monitor, Nonchalant Magazine and GUAP Mag.
I have over 5 years of experience in various editorial and writing roles. I spent 3 years as a subeditor at a financial research company, working my way up to senior subeditor, before moving into magazines with creative agency Future Strategy Club. I then became features editor at New Statesman Media Group, leading commercial content campaigns with clients such as Kodak and E.ON, as well as pitching news pieces and features for the various sites across technology, sustainability, luxury and more.
I am now a freelancer, splitting my time between a part-time editor role at Future Strategy Club's magazines, and am seeking exciting and challenging freelance projects for the rest of my week! Please feel free to get in touch directly via email at lvhurrell at gmail dot com.
I have an MA in Publishing from UCL and a BA joint honours in Literature with Film Studies from King's College London. I have completed several creative writing courses, as well as the Raindance screenwriting course and BFI screenwriting course, a London School of Journalism course in Freelance & Feature Writing and my level 1 & 2 editing qualification from CIEP (Chartered Institute of Editing and Publishing).
