Dog carer at Bruce's Doggy Daycare (2021-08 – Present)
My current role within Bruces Doggy Daycare has allowed me to further enhance my knowledge within the animal sector (particularly dogs) building trusted relationships with both the dogs and their owners as well as enhancing my customer service skills.
- Supervising dogs within dedicated field(s) ensuring no altercations
- Ensuring dogs welfare is of the highest standard
- Feeding dogs that arrive with meals
- Documenting photos of the dogs on site for the owners to view at the end of each week
- Cleaning indoor cabin space
- Carrying out extra day services such as: Nail clipping, teeth & ear cleaning & brushing
- Home boarding dogs to help support customers during annual leave or work commitments

During my time at Pets at Home I have developed several skills and furthered my passion for working within the animal care sector.
- Cleaning out animal cages whilst checking for any signs of illness or distress from the animals
- Feeding and watering the animals such as rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, rats, guinea pigs and fish
- Checking and administering any medication required by any of our pets
- Booking appointments with vets when required
- Assisting customers with any queries or needs; e.g. dietary requirements and enrichment (Nutrition and Dental qualification obtained in 2017)

- SQP qualification obtained in 2020, to allow me to advise customers on the correct flea and worming treatments available
- Trained to also support in our dog grooming salons e.g. bathing, drying, brushing, nail clipping and preparing dogs for full grooms. Also taking phone calls making bookings, editing appointments and answering any questions customers have
- Cashing up when needed, opening and closing the store, delegating staff to ensure all tasks are completed. Occasionally participating in sporadic conference calls

Within my time at Clintons, I developed my excellent team work skills culminating in being offered a supervisory role within just four months of being with the company.
- Serving & helping customers with their purchases

- Assisting with staff in kennels by walking the dogs so they received their daily exercise while also supporting the animal care assistants in the cattery
- Giving the cats attention and stimulating their social needs whilst also helping with the washing up

- Preparing the flowers for use, contributing to display work, creating hand ties for orders, funeral work, whilst making sure the work space was tidy and organised

Peer Mentor and School Prefect at Woking High School
I was a peer mentor to a year 7 boy at school. This role required me to be available to younger students who required help and support in their school life. I was also a school prefect; my duties included directing students around the school and upholding the reputation of the school.
Student - Floristry Competitions and Demonstrations at Merrist Wood College (2012-09 – 2014-07)
In my first year of college I was involved in world skills competition, the county show floristry competition and a demonstration at the summer fair. In my second year at college I visited a secondary school to demonstrate and answer any questions about floristry.
