I have over 8 years of teaching experience, where I have taught both classes (of sizes up to 12 students) and individual lessons (100+ students). Currently, I am in the final year of PhD in Chemistry at University College London (UCL), and thereby, I am able to continue my professional development in teaching. Moreover, my students will proceed with the most up to date teaching methods in the discipline.

Hello, my name is Lavan. I am an experienced chemistry tutor with over 7 years of teaching experience, helping students of all abilities excel. Currently, 92% of my students achieve grades higher than their predictions.

I believe in tailoring my teaching methods to fit each student's unique learning style. However, one principle remains consistent for all: understanding the topic is paramount, rather than just rote memorisation. My approach involves starting from the basics and building on that foundation, while providing structured methods to easily remember key information from each topic.

A typical lesson with me includes:

• Addressing any doubts from the homework assigned in the previous lesson.
• Introducing and teaching new content, emphasising key points highlighted in the specification.
• Working through questions from various textbooks. Initially, I provide guidance for each question, but by the end of the lesson, my students tackle the questions with minimal assistance.
• Clarifying any doubts or questions that might have arisen during the lesson or any issues from their school or university studies.
