I currently support vulnerable people who reside in residential settings as an Assistant Psychologist implementing interventions in a Therapeutic Approach, mainly using the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Helping others to feel valued and manage their negative thoughts is my passion so that they can hopefully see a positive future. The special skills I have mastered is communication being key when working in a multidisciplinary team so everyone is on the same page and can support the vulnerable person. In addition to this I tailor my therapeutic session as best as I can to the vulnerable person, including the setting, if they would like to talk in general or if they would like it more specific around one area.
I have supported vulnerable people in several different settings, including the following: 16 plus semi-independent living, A secure home for sever individuals with autism, a SEND school, family assessment and LD homes. In total I have supported vulnerable people for approximately 6 years. I am currently in the job role of an Assistant Psychologist at Progressive Care Ltd supporting in the following settings: Family Assessment, 16 plus, children's homes and LD homes. I joined the company on November 1st 2021. I can work independently and part as a team. I mostly use Words to complete documentations however other systems are used.
I have completed diplomas in social care and health science professions at Doncaster college. I have completed an undergraduate degree in psychology with clinical psychology at Lincoln university. I am currently completing a masters degree in psychology with Arden university. These are both BPS credited which is essential in completing psychology and even more so if I complete a doctorate in the future.
