Front and back of house - Burger King - Southampton, Hampshire

I worked at a branch of Burger King in the Southampton area from August to October 2024. Working front of house, was an active and communication focused role, which I enjoyed. This role allowed for me to work directly with customers and while simultaneously helping my co-workers who were working back of house.
This position improved my ability to stay professional under pressure, I personally noticed that it helped with my recall of memory as retaining information is a necessity when communicating professionally. While working at Burger King I also worked as back of house. My key role within this was to cook and pack up food that was served to customers.
The essentials within this role were food safety as well as personal safety. In order to serve food safely, I ensured that all foods were fully cooked by following cooking times and temperatures which is something I both received training in and were displayed around my working environment. I ensured the cooking area was also safe by cleaning up spills as they happened and not allowing for them to become a hazard causing myself and others around me to be at potential risk.

Front and Back of House Staff - Coco's Coffee Shop - Portsmouth, Hampshire

My role here was one that I done through my college as work experience for a 3 month period. Through my role within this coffee shop, I gained experience working directly with customers through working the front of house. I also gained experience in catering when working the back of house by preparing food for customers. I thoroughly enjoyed this job as I really enjoy serving new customers and cooking. I also gained experience in cleaning high risk areas such as kitchen surfaces and ovens.
Volunteer - Southampton Autism Support Service - Southampton, Hampshire

I volunteered here once every month for two years, during this role I had to participate in events, help classes involving cooking, art and social skills classes. I enjoyed volunteering here as it helped me gain experience in different areas further gaining skills that will help me in multiple areas. Volunteering and helping people is something that I am extremely passionate about within my personal life as being a positive person for the people around me is something that I feel very strongly about.
Through volunteering I learned patience and understanding when dealing with all different types of people, both professionally and personally.
