During my previous role at Health-on-line/AXA, I supported our internal development teams backend systems with ad hoc database administration, refactoring, indexing and reports for senior DBA’s and analysts for developing successful Business Intelligence models.

With more than seven years of experience as a professional in IT, I am fluent in a wide variety of software and data management systems ranging from traditional options like Excel, SQL and MySQL to newer SaaS systems like Azure and Salesforce. I have a working knowledge of core programming skills such as c#, which has allowed me to develop within each of these data systems and learning python.

Mostly utilized in an application support role, I found as I progressed further within this role I found an affinity with data, this ultimately resulted in exposure to analytics and eventually server maintenance and seconded within the DBA team picking up tasks normally associated with a DBA or Data Engineer have all been instrumental to my development.

Bsc Software Engineer, cert of HE Microsoft certification az-900 and dp-900 have been undertaken as a remote qualification that I intend to build upon. Python is the next immediate focus as this I believe would be the most relevant to data engineering roles however I have the intention of undertaking the DP-203 to further extend my working knowledge of the Data Engineering role with the most relevant qualification
