Paswsome - Graphic Designer
Pawsome is an up-and-coming convention for which I volunteer at to gain valuable experience as a graphic designer. In my current role, I am focusing on the social media aspect of the company, maintaining brand consistency and keeping our followers informed. For this job, I mainly use Illustrator and InDesign to create high-end banners, mock ups and info-graphics.
The reason why I took on a volunteer role is that I am eager to put my skills to use. and to keep on learning and developing as a designer. After finishing my day job, one might assume I wouldn’t want to do more work. However, to me, this role is a great opportunity to practice my skills and have some fun along the way.
My degree required me to improve my time management skills and with this position I am able to actively apply this trait. As this is a volunteer position, being driven and self motivated is key to my success.

The most important skill I learned was fully understanding the design process, taking an idea from the initial concept to the final design.
