Customer Assistant - Roller world

This was a short-term work experience project I undertook after my studies, and it was an amazing experience. As a keen roller skater, I worked at Rollerworld and carried out several tasks including:
- Preparing food and drinks in the restaurant to customer specification
- Admitting various party groups to the venue, being sure to check any additions they added to their roller session
- Issuing the right size boots and providing light customer service while doing so
- Manage face to face enquiries from customers and manage any telephone based enquires
- Cleaning both the front of house area and any customer areas that would help reflect well on the business
- Create and take part in activities designed for customers with Special Educational Needs (SEN). These parties were designed to bring inclusivity to any customers who had a disability, normally children
- Support young people in safety briefings and being sure to alert them of any dangers
- Support them to wear the laser packs and be aware of any emergency exits
- Monitor the CCTV in the foyer and be present if there were any behavioural issues or safety issues that needed me to assist them
Court Marshal - Jump Street - Colchester

As a Court Marshal at Jump Street Colchester, I was a floor staff member responsible for ensuring customer safety and maintaining order on the trampolines and climbing walls. I supervised jumpers, enforced facility rules, and monitored areas to prevent collisions or injuries.
- Safety Supervision: Monitoring trampolines, foam pits, and the Clip 'n Climb walls to make sure guests follow the rules
- Guest Assistance: Helping guests put on harnesses, explaining safety briefings, and assisting those who may need help getting back up on the trampolines
- Facility Maintenance: Ensuring the jump areas are tidy, checking that equipment is secure, and clearing obstacles off the courts
- Customer Service: Answering jumper questions, managing crowd flow, and handling occasional minor customer issues
Trading Assistant - Sainsburys
(2024 - 2024)
As a Trading Assistant at Sainsbury's, I was in a key front-line role responsible for ensuring the store runs smoothly, shelves remain stocked, and customers receive excellent service. It was a fast-paced, physical role that requires working across various departments and adapting to daily store demands.
- Stock Replenishment: Transporting heavy roll cages from the warehouse and manually stocking shelves to ensure products are available
- Customer Service: Assisting customers on the shop floor, handling checkout and self-service till duties, and helping with product locations
- Quality & Code Checking: Regularly checking "use by" and "best before" dates on fresh produce and groceries
- Store Presentation: Keeping aisles clean, tidy, clear of hazards, and well-presented
- Online Order Picking: Picking and preparing groceries for online delivery or Click & Collect orders
Ground Staff - SMS Tree Services Limited
(2025-01 - 2026-01)
- Work Zone Protection: Setting up safety barriers, cones, and warning signs to keep pedestrians and vehicles away from the drop zone
- Hazard Spotting: Remaining aware of overhead operations, constantly monitoring for falling branches, and guiding the climber away from unseen hazards
- Emergency Readiness: Remaining prepared at all times to execute ground-based rescue procedures and call for emergency services if needed
- Rigging and Lowering: Managing and controlling lowering lines (ropes) to safely guide heavy limbs and timber to the ground without causing damage to property or injuring the climber
- Tool Delivery: Tying tools, fuel, and replacement saws to a haul line so the climber can pull them up into the tree canopy as needed
- Chipping Operations: Feeding branches, brash, and foliage into a wood chipper to clear the work area efficiently
- Log Processing: Using chainsaws to buck (cut) dropped trunks and large stems into manageable logs or smaller pieces for stacking or removal
- Site Clearance: Raking, sweeping, and loading debris into a truck or trailer to leave the client's property spotless
- Daily Checks: Conducting routine checks on equipment (e.g., checking chipper blades, chainsaw tension, and fluid levels) before starting work
- Tool Preparation: Sharpening chainsaw chains, refuelling machinery, and ensuring all climbing and rigging gear is stored correctly
