I am an intelligent and sensible person who has the determination and enthusiasm in order to have a successful career. I am very approachable, friendly and professional at all times. Some of my best skills are problem solving and my organisational abilities. I also have a time and attendance record that is near perfect throughout my studies and working life.
Ball Corporation, Wakefield.
Line Maintainer/ Quality control.
Generally, I occupied one of the QC roles within the plant on a daily basis. However, due to my extensive training and application I can carry out various roles within the back-end of the plant, which involves working 12 hour continental shifts for the world’s largest beverage can manufacturer. It can include maintaining and assisting the operation of numerous parts of machinery, including palletisers, de-palletisers, top framers, conveyors and strappers in addition to performing critical quality checks and helping in and around my area of the plant.
This job has provided me with great problem solving and mechanical skills, as the old machines will often stop working for a vast array of reasons, and it is my job to attempt to resolve this and get the machine up and running again as soon as possible to avoid back-ups to the production lines. It is also imperative to keep the lines full when depalletizing cans to the adjacent factory (Coca- Cola) to keep production running smoothly. I have also gained communication skills as I interact with people throughout the plant for example; fellow co-workers, quality control, team leader, shift-manager or with Coke’s filler operators.
During the course of a shift I will use our Ticket Production System (TPS) in order to plan out when conversions to different set ups will need to take place in accordance with label changes. I also assist with the conversions which require mechanical skill and fully understand all the different setups we run. I have also passed my Fork lift truck tests and have a RTITB approved certificate.
