Weighbridge Operative - Peel ports logistics - Port

I work as a weighbridge operative which is dealing with customers who are coming in and out of the port collecting their product and orders, these orders are booked into the companies system which records all incoming and outgoing orders. Each day is different as there are many different orders and deliveries to deal with as well as contacting hauliers, customers and management through emails and via phone. I also deal with cargo bulk ships, bag ships and any other ships that come into the port, all cargo has to be weighed so this is my responsibility to make sure everything is running correctly and smoothly which is very important In the weighbridge.
Any issues, complaints, enquiries also come through to myself which I then deal with, with management. It is also important that all of our customers are happy with the service given to them making sure they are loaded quickly and efficiently when collecting their order. Working as a weighbridge operative is also a security procedure as I am the first point of contact to the port so following the security procedures safely is also important, with who's entering site, why their entering site, do they have an order number, if they have
Customer Service - M53 Ford

Within the last year I have gained customer service skills in a new job role. I am the first point of contact when someone calls M53 Ford, directing them to the correct line. I see customers in and out of the dealership, and book their cars in, take their calls and answer any enquiries regarding their vehicles.
I use a few different platforms when dealing with customers and bookings as well as invoicing and filing important paper work and documents. I have developed great communication skills, both verbal, and written, by speaking on the phones throughout my working day and replying to enquiries online, in person and emails. I also deal with any complaints which are made and make sure our customers are satisfied with our customer service and ask for there is anything we can do to be better.
Customers are the most important people throughout this job role. This is the first job I have had which requires any sort of customer service skills, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and believe the skills I have developed will help me with any future customer service jobs , and general skills to help with day to day life.
Dock Worker - Associated British Ports - Garston Docks

During lockdown it was very difficult to find a job so I applied for an agency called driving edge who work with Associated British ports which is based on Garston docks. Associated British ports is Located on the north bank of the Mersey, ABP's Port of Garston specialises in handling a wide array of cargo, from dry bulks to steel products and annually handles around 500,000 tonnes of cargo. During my time on the docks, I have gained knowledge and the experience of how the port industry works.
Production Worker - Jaguar Land Rover

This was a very busy environment as the company expects to build up to 800 cars a day to a successful quality standard. It is very important to keep the production running which shows you have to be very efficient for this company and team work is also important. I enjoyed working for Jaguar Land rover but as this was agency work the company had to let all agency staff go due to covid19.

In April 2017 I had a life changing opportunity to join and work as part of a team at John Lennon Airport; I became a successful candidate during the application process within the cadetship. This was a 12-month contract at Liverpool John Lennon Airport Fire and Rescue; this gave me many skills to take with me for my future and now I have a lot of opportunities to look forward to.
