I am an organised and reliable individual. I can work independently and cooperatively with others efficiently and with outstanding quality. I always work on making improvements, using the mistakes I make to build on prior knowledge.
I have a very good eye for detail, always putting in maximum effort to follow the Company's values and standards. Work experience has taught me how to manage my time and productivity, and how to prioritise tasks. I cooperate well with other team members while participating in group work, while also boosting their spirits.
I can comfortably talk to strangers and make them feel welcome. I enjoy pushing myself to see my capabilities and seeing how well I cope under stress or pressure. I always stay on my assigned tasks with the correct mindset and strive to provide assistance to those who need it.
Part-time Work Experience at Stapleton House Care Home (2022-10 – 2023-05)
During my first year at college, I was completing a Health and Social Care BTEC level 3 Diploma course, which had me doing work experience in a carehome. I helped out by getting what the nurses needed, talking to and entertaining the residents, and helping out in the kitchen. Being in the kitchen at the care home led me to want to work in kitchens, with food, which is how I came to be at my next work experience.
Working with residents improved my patience and my ability to communicate effectively with people in a way to keep them satisfied.
Apprenticeship Trainee Commis Chef at Fenwick (2023-09 – 2024-01)
I worked in multiple kitchens at Fenwick during my apprenticeship. Starting in a preparation kitchen, I developed knife skills, which helped me to become more efficient at my tasks. In getting given lists, I learned how to organise and prioritise.
At first, I was working with a few other people, then gradually working on my own and getting the things I need as I need them, minimising the space I was using, keeping my workspace clean, and getting familiar with my work environment. When working in the second kitchen, my role was to work with live customer orders. This meant I would be working under pressure with multiple tasks, with stressed team members, and getting meals out on time.
I worked this job five days a week, at least 1 of 2 weekend days, from 8 am to 4 pm, and got more hours when I could. I also attended college one day per week, where I created various full meals, sides, and desserts, and professionally presented them.
Apprenticeship Customer service/Cafe Staff at Gateshead Leisure Centre (2024-05 – 2025-08)
I spent the last three days of May attending a first aid course, which I completed. As the leisure centre was preparing to reopen, our small team of staff thoroughly cleaned the entire facility and welcomed the public back. Since it did not seem appropriate for only me to be working towards a customer service goal, I transitioned to a café staff apprenticeship between January and February 2025, continuing until I submitted my eight-week notice on June 14th, with my employment concluding on August 2nd, 2025.
During my time in this role, I acquired skills in operating a till, managing cash transactions, and engaging with customers. I also took on numerous overtime shifts, including those with minimal assistance. I acquired a Level 2 in food hygiene while at this job.
Kitchen member at Ben Lomond (2025-10 – 2026-02)
I worked by myself for all of my shifts at the Ben Lomond apart from on Christmas Day. During this role, I effectively built on my multitasking and time-keeping skills as the only person working in the kitchen, making food for the whole pub. I'd also make time to keep my workspace clean and keep used dishes clean/clean dishes circulated. I am able to open and close the kitchen and make sure that all of the checks are filled out exactly as they are meant to.
