After 30 years working in healthcare management I am semi retired and working for the season at Blair Castle within the ticketing team. I am a highly experienced and well-educated healthcare manager with 30 years' experience in the NHS in a range of clinical governance and risk management functions. I am well motivated and hard working with a flexible attitude to work to meet the needs of the service.
I possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and am used to paying meticulous attention to detail. I am confident and used to working under pressure and to tight timescales. I am able to manage difficult situations and deal with highly confidential and sensitive information.
I am used to working individually using my own initiative and as part of a team as required. I am adaptable and able to learn new skills quickly and have a flexible attitude to work.
Ticketing Assistant (Seasonal) at Blair Castle (2024-04 – Present)
I work on a part time basis in the ticketing team either selling tickets to visitors and providing information to them or welcoming visitors into the castle and providing information to them regarding their visit to ensure they have the best customer experience and enjoy their visit.
Deputy Head of Governance at Marie Curie Hospice Newcastle (2022-09 – 2025-09)
This was a demanding role and I supported the Head of Quality. I had overall responsibility for clinical audit and also patient experience ensuring patients received the best possible care. I had responsibility for both the hospice and the community services.

I was involved in the CQC inspection last year where we achieved a rating of "Outstanding". Following successful completion of the interim management role within the Trust I was provided with the opportunity to take up a permanent post within the organisation and commenced working permanently with the trust in June 2019. I managed the clinical audit and effectiveness function which involved ensuring that there were robust clinical audit processes and systems in place, development and implementation of the clinical audit annual programme and reporting on progress with audits to committees. I also chaired the Policies and guidelines Group and was responsible for implementation of the Quality Challenge which was a self-assessment tool for services to use to rate their services against the key CQC domains and the development of action plans to address issues arising. I produced regular reports on this to various high-level groups and committees.
