Master Drill Rig Operator (Sandvik DD210&DD211 and Epiroc SL1) - Marula Platinum Mine

- Taking over/handing over from an on/off going operator.
- Visually inspecting the Drill Rig machine using a checklist before and during operation.
- Refuelling and testing all brakes.
- Attending and reporting abnormalities to the supervisor to receive further instructions.
- Drive the drill rig around blind spots to the drill site.
- Hazard identifying and risk assessing.
- Inspect the hanging wall, footwall, face and sidewall and bar down where needed to be barred.
- Identifying misfires and reporting it to the competent person.
- Stabilizing the drill rig with stabilizing jacks, install water pump and electric cable.
- Rattling loose rocks.
- Safely operating single boom drilling rig according to procedure and instructions.
- Performing drilling activities according to procedure and instructions.
- Housekeeping of equipment.
- Putting back the machine in a safe place after drilling not to be damaged by the blast and for the next drilling activity.
- Park, switching ignition key off and isolating.

- Ensuring the drilling machine is in good condition to perform daily drilling activity.
- Identifying and dealing with rock strata conditions.
- Making workplace safe by installing temporary and permanent support.
