A woman who takes pride in her achievements whether personal or business orientated. An effective communicator at all levels from MP's, children and vulnerable persons. With a specialism in Early Years Practice and Social Care.
I started in commercial sales and recruitment with 15 years experience in commercial and white collar recruitment. I have excellent customer service skills both face to face and over the phone. I changed my passion from recruitment and sales to more societal, child, family, social and community associated issues due to personal circumstances and working with vulnerable groups.
I am extremely strong willed, am presentable, forward thinking, intuitive, have excellent analytical and research skills and am effective in whatever challenge or role I undertake, with proven results and effective change.
Community Outreach Volunteer and Advocate at Community Outreach (Foodbank, ECHO, The Light Project, Food cycle, Millfield Fridge) (2015-01 – Present)
Due to personal involvement with family courts over a 11 year period, I gave up paid employment to concentrate on the return of my daughter and worked closely with those is society deemed as vulnerable such as the homeless, ex-offenders, those with mental health issues (diagnosed and undiagnosed), drug and alcohol users, neurodivergent and those with learning or physical disabilities. I decided to change direction from Commercial work to Community and made the decision to re-train and upskill my already impressive portfolio of experience, to work alongside vulnerable persons and families. This is in the hope of improving multi agency working and feel that advocacy and advice is one of my stronger skills, due to my life experiences and training.
I currently volunteer for Foodbank and ECHO in Lincoln with close ties to the Salvation and other community projects. I also have worked alongside The Light Project (Peterborough 3 years – homeless), Foodbank and Food cycle (Peterborough and Lincoln – community kitchen and food parcels), Millfield Fridge (Eastern European families – food parcels) and have been involved in Community Projects over 3 constituents including Peterborough, Grantham and Lincoln. I now have 11 years' experience in Societal issues from the ground upwards (even being made homeless myself) and other Community Projects.
I am known for my straightforward, honest and open approach. Any work undertaken or assessments is undertaken without undue influence or pressure from others and will always be person centred and in the best interests of my client – which is essential when representing a child or vulnerable person or undertaking the role of advocate/client.
