Security Control Room Officer - Scottish Government

I work in a secure room using CCTV and access systems which monitor site access and surveillance. I fill out CCTV control room logs and provide handovers to the next shift. I also communicate with other government sites and external contractors. I engage well with other Scottish Government staff regarding business critical matters.
Parcel Sorter - Royal Mail

My main job role was handling letters and parcels from conveyor belts, scanning these items and organising them into their correct locations and onward postal zones. I would check for damaged parcels and report anything that was damaged or deemed suspicious. This was a fast paced and physical role in which I reveled in.

My main role consisted of using CCTV to monitor activity internally as well as externally and also conduct internal patrols by foot as well as with a guard dog. I liaised with staff, contractors and visitors to direct them to their various departments on site as well as checking ID's to make sure they were allowed on the high security premises. I was responsible for being a key holder as well as maintaining logs to provide for handovers.
I had to make Tannoy announcements around the building in which I was confident to do as well as making these announcements ad hoc.

I would check vehicle registrations and ID's to make sure they corresponded to documents to allow access onto site.
