I am a confident, curious and hardworking person who is eager to gain more experience within health and social care. I have always had a keen interest in biology and psychology, as well as working with people. Through volunteering, work experience and employment, I have become aware of my strengths in communication, problem-solving and precision, as well as my desire to help people, make positive societal changes, and continue to learn as much as I can.
I am currently in my third year of BSc Psychology at UCL and have A-levels in Biology (A*) and Chemistry (A) and Art (A*). I achieved a grade average of 8.3 in my GCSEs.
My professional experience encompasses a diverse range of roles in volunteering, work experience, and employment, each contributing to my skill set and personal growth. In volunteering, I have cared for horses and assisted children at the Riding for the Disabled Association in 2018, learned and applied first aid as a St John Ambulance Cadet from 2018 to 2020, and entertained and supported children and parents as a 'fun team' member at the Royal Free Hospital in 2023.
In terms of work experience, I served as a Research Assistant at Katlab, assisting with experiments related to parental understanding of children's interoceptive states, and as a Transition Mentor at UCL, helping new students transition into university life. Additionally, I interned at Synthesized, where I worked on data fairness and bias reduction in machine learning, and gained hands-on experience at Sheen GP Surgery and Epsom Hospital, improving my communication skills and understanding of healthcare.
My employment history also includes various roles in the hospitality industry, where I honed my customer service, problem-solving, and multitasking skills. I worked as a bartender at several bars, including Whelans Kingston, Cabana Bar Sydney, Simmons Bar Putney, and The Willoughby Arms, where I managed busy shifts, created cocktails, whilst maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. I also served as a storyteller and waitress at Incognito Cocktail Bars and as a seasonal sales assistant at Superdry, further developing my ability to prioritize tasks and deliver excellent customer experiences.
I completed my A-Levels in 2021, achieving A* in Art, A* in Biology, and A in Chemistry. My GCSE results include 9s in Art, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Geography, as well as 8s and 7s in Maths, English Literature, English Language, and Spanish. I am currently in my third year of BSc Psychology at University College London, which has a strong neuroscientific basis, and focuses in clinical and health psychology.
