My current role at Monkey World was a departure from architecture as I was looking to do something practical and hands on while still drawing on my understanding of building construction and materials. In this role, I carry out a wide variety of tasks to keep the park running smoothly. This includes construction and emergency repairs in enclosures and across the rest of the site, completing daily checks to ensure the park is safe for both animals and visitors fixing fencing, and assisting external contractors with their work.
During my time here, I have expanded my skills working with various tools and materials in a wide range of situations, all while maintaining a strong awareness of health & safety standards and site-specific constraints, particularly in an environment with live animals and members of the public.
