Dear whom this may concern.
The short story is; when I was 16, I didn’t know what I wanted to do as a career, therefore I’ve spent a lot of my time over the past 11 years getting all sorts of PT/sports related qualifications.
From a teen when I was at Charlton Athletic Academy, there was that dream of working at a football club as a S&C coach or in Rehab, but I was never sure if university was for me. At the academy, I would be the only one turning up to S&C sessions to which it ended up being a 1 to 1 session with the coach. It was due to these sessions that made me realise what work goes on behind the scenes at a football club.
Most teens dream of being a player but the women’s game, back then, wasn’t really a career choice or an option. So, I thought well the next best thing is to be part of the club in another way.
It has only been as I’ve grown as person, become a wife and a mother, that I’ve decided to pursue that dream.
I joined the military in hoping to gain experience within sports that way however I got a knee injury and was medically discharged while in basic training. Once I was home after being discharged, I signed up to become a PT. It was after doing the PT qualification that I have gradually done many different types of qualifications based around sport/fitness instructing.
I become qualified in sports massage in 2014 and isn’t a career I have had but I have treated PT clients with sports massage over the years.
Currently I am doing Level 5 in soft tissue therapy which ends around August 2024.
I have approached Oxford Brookes University about doing a top up year for a BSc in Rehabilitation after completing the Level 5.
