I am an organised and efficient person, with an enquiring mind. In my current role as a Senior Residential Care Worker, I work closely with Young People, their Parents, Guardians and relevant Authorities. My current role enables me to project my personal ability to sustain, were possible and improve the day to day experience of those in my care.
I use my ability to learn from my experience and professional development, to help and encourage Young People and colleagues. I use this collaboration to also develop and improved these relationships. Since my career opportunity started at Underley Garden School (UGS), I have experienced many new challenges.
With training and personal goals, set and achieved, I feel I have gained experience and understanding into the mechanics that would allow me to effectively function in any caring and professional organisation. I consider my continued professional development (CPD), has improved my outlook on the contribution I make to my current and any future employment. Linked with my ability to carefully read into and understand more complex behaviour, I can effectively manage a planned approach to given situations.
I frequently have the opportunity to experience a more responsible role as a Deputy Manager, running the entire site and resolving situations as they arise. I have enjoyed these challenges, with the satisfaction of seeing how my input has allowed the tasks to be completed. With my current responsibilities, I have also experienced more in-depth communication and understanding of what makes an effective organisation function.
I also feel my ability to recognise empathy and effectively communicate with all relevant parties, improves the life and experience of everyone I work with.
