In my present employment, we do stock take twice a day and stock control is of high importance. I balance my stock twice a day and have a system in place to ensure all orders are supplied, with leeway time provided to allow for shortages, etc. I have physically filled the cylinders, decanted, and repaired the valves on cylinders to know how to train the staff and help when short-staffed.
All parts are accounted for and recorded; expenses are justified and approved before orders on parts. Every single asset in this depot is accounted for, checked, and repaired, if necessary, on a monthly, if not weekly basis. Any missing stock is investigated and must be explained, or an employer held responsible is charged for the stock.
Paperwork is checked to ensure no mistakes were made before charging an employer.
