A full-time volunteering position requiring constant and compassionate public engagement, and managing donations given by the public, including books, stationery and clothing. In ensuring the overall good order of the shop, my organisational skills and eye for detail were combined to ensure the needs of the public and the charity were met throughout. I enjoyed the feeling of providing what those visiting sought whilst simultaneously delivering for the charity I was supporting.

I sought this appointment to increase my experience while also being able to invest my own time and effort into the preservation of artworks, and the promotion of culture, in my local area.
Gallery, I worked alongside other volunteers within the exhibition space of the gallery's permanent works; a variety of artworks from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries which reflected the local area and its history. Crucially, and in keeping with my local interest, I worked with local artists, helping set up their exhibition space to best reflect their works. Most satisfying was the public facing nature of the role which enabled me to ensure the explanation of and accessibility to the art works on display to those visiting.
