Site Foreman role managing scaffolding projects
- Lead the erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding structures in line with TG20:21, SG4, and site-specific requirements
- Interpret and work from complex drawings, plans, and design specifications, ensuring all structures meet safety and load-bearing standards
- Supervise and mentor junior scaffolders and labourers, providing guidance, checking work quality, and ensuring correct techniques are used
- Conduct daily safety checks, risk assessments, and scaffold inspections, identifying hazards and ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations
- Coordinate with site managers, contractors, and trades, ensuring scaffolds are delivered on time and adapted to changing project needs
- Manage materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring efficient use, correct handling, and organisation across the site
- Ensure all scaffold structures meet legal and industry standards, including bracing, ties, guard rails, toe boards, and access points
- Communicate clearly with team members and site supervisors, reporting progress, risks, and any structural concerns
- Oversee the safe loading, unloading, and transportation of scaffold materials, ensuring manual handling procedures are followed
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including handover certificates, inspection sheets, and sign-off reports
- Support with complex or high-risk builds, including suspended scaffolds, confined spaces, and restricted-access installations
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on site, ensuring PPE compliance and safe working practices at all times
- Operate HGV Class 2 vehicles safely and efficiently for deliveries, collections, and site transport
- Carry out thorough vehicle checks and daily walk-around inspections, ensuring full compliance with safety and roadworthiness standards
- Load and unload materials securely, following safe manual handling and load-securing procedures (strapping, chains, restraints)
- Transport scaffold materials, equipment, and supplies between depots, sites, and storage yards
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, paperwork, and digital records, ensuring all documentation is completed correctly
- Comply with all driving regulations, including tachographs, Working Time Directive, and company policies
- Plan routes and adapt to traffic, site restrictions, and changing schedules to maintain timely deliveries
- Communicate effectively with site managers, yard teams, and logistics staff, providing updates on progress and delays
- Support site teams where required, including loading assistance, equipment organisation, and general labour tasks
- Keep the vehicle clean, well-maintained, and service-ready, reporting defects promptly
