My job role includes assisting clients out in the community and to the different activities our company provides throughout the week. During my time with the company I have worked with a number of individuals with a variety of needs. I have worked one-on-one and also in group home settings.

I currently work as part of the activities team which includes a variety of different activities for the clients to do. My job is to ensure that the individuals attend these days and enjoy their time there. Allowing them to be as independent as possible is one of the most important things I do.

Over the years I have been able to use skills I developed in my own time at work. For example, I am able to finger spell after learning to do so when I met a young man on holiday who could only communicate in this way. I am able to use this skill with one of the individuals I support during activity days.
