I transitioned into NHS pathology with positions as a Medical Laboratory Assistant in microbiology at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Birmingham (2018–2019) and at St Mark’s Hospital, London (2019–2020). Over nearly two years, I operated Abbott Alinity haematology analysers for full blood counts and differentials, conducted DNA/RNA extractions on the Roche 6800 platform, and assisted in molecular assay development that improved test sensitivity by 12%.
