I am happily married to my wife, and we have two children, a girl and a boy. I am an active member and trustee of my local Baptist church, where I assist in running family-focused events such as Light Parties and Messy Church, family fun days. I also help oversee volunteers and that contribute to other activities during the week.
I have a genuine passion for working with children and enjoy creating welcoming, fun, and safe environments where they can feel valued and encouraged in their faith. In my professional role as a support worker for disabled people, I have developed strong skills in care, patience, and safeguarding, which I bring to all my work with children and families.
After leaving school, I explored a few different jobs before settling in the food manufacturing sector. Over the next ten years, I worked in factories across various locations in the Technical Department, overseeing all aspects of food safety and quality to ensure products were safe for public consumption and met the standards required by the BRC (British Retail Consortium). My role also involved tasting and testing food to monitor quality and detect potential allergens or microbiological issues.
I became qualified to a supervisory level, but ultimately turned down an offer to move into management as my heart was not in the industry .
I was feeling drawn through prayer to work in the care sector, I now work as a support worker for disabled people. I have found this work deeply fulfilling, developing strong skills in care, patience, safeguarding, and building meaningful relationships. My ultimate passion, however, would be working with children, ideally in a church/christian setting, where I can not only serve the Lord daily, but do so within an environment fully grounded in Christian faith and values.
I am currently working towards my QCF in care. While my formal qualifications are still in progress, I have extensive hands-on experience supporting children, families, and vulnerable adults, including running family-focused church events such as Light Parties and Messy Church. This experience has helped me develop strong skills in safeguarding, pastoral care, and creating safe, engaging environments.
