Head of Technology and Innovation at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) (2022-11 – Present)

• Won board-level approval for JLR's entry into home energy - £60M+ incremental annual revenue, less than 5 years payback. Defined the vision for an integrated Smart Energy ecosystem (V2G, Solar PV, HEMS, home storage), the market entry strategy and the partner-led operating model – capturing the digital and customer layer while limiting JLR exposure to commodity risks
• Rebuilt the enterprise services strategy to £250M EBIT – a 10x uplift. Led project scope, stakeholder engagement, programme management, future opportunities evaluation, analysis of operational capability requirements and financial modelling. Updated strategy successfully embedded into enterprise business plan
• Reduced time required for technology landscaping by 10x by founding JLR's Technology Intelligence function and pioneering AI-based analysis of technology trends. Enable more holistic strategy definition process by identifying technological threats, opportunities and convergences early
• Act as JLR interface to the energy sector. Spearheaded external engagements with aggregators, VPPs, smart energy technology providers, energy startups. JLR representative at key industry forums and technical/regulatory expert groups (ACEA, SMMT, CharIn, ChaDeMo). Converted these relationships into funded collaborative projects
• Set technical and strategic direction for Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G), reconciling gridside requirements (interoperability, flexibility market access, network constraints) with customers' needs and vehicle technical constraints. Supported establishment of novel governance and programme structure across Engineering, Strategy, Commercial – and launched innovation projects to accelerate delivery of V2G

Innovation and Technology Manager at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) (2022-07 – 2022-11)

• Co-created the "Energy Ecosystem" strategic theme with Engineering – including agreeing a common vision across departments and establishing key features, technology areas and activities to deliver it. Successfully influenced leadership in pivoting initial scope from V2G only to encompass all hardware, software and services to deliver an E2E energy ecosystem
• Led JLR first "open innovation deal flow". Coordinated the Open Innovation electrification squad, defining key areas of exploration and directly leading startups engagements on deal flows on battery digital twins, EV charging services, and energy management. Organised JLR's first Open Innovation meetup – involving internal and external stakeholders, and matching them with relevant startups
• Secured government funding for two V2G innovation projects. Directly led technical and commercial scope, consortia building and bid writing eMobility Manager at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) (2020-09 – 2022-07)
• Owned home EV charging proposition end to end – including customer and technical requirements, partnerships, SLAs, business case. Defined update of home charging proposition as part of wider eMobility strategy refresh – focusing on EVSE digital integration into OEM App and home ecosystem, and expanding business case to include V2G/V2H offering
• Built dealer charging infrastructure sizing model to enable retailers to upgrade EV infrastructure balancing investments and great customer experience. Rewrote JLR retailer EV charging standards to expand focus beyond pure number of EVSEs into overall customer experience and retailer operations
• Led engagements with Governments and industry associations, coordinating JLR contributions

Vehicle-to-Grid & EV Charging Innovation Lead at Innovate UK (2017-10 – 2020-08)

• Directed £70M+ of national innovation funding across 40+ projects in V2G, wireless EV charging and public charging infrastructure – covering opportunities identification, funding allocation and portfolio strategy. V2G innovation programme was world's largest – and it largely built UK's V2G demonstrator base
• Contributed to UK smart charging and V2G policy as technical lead. Advised government departments, industry and research organisations; participated in EV taskforces and standards committees; planned multi-year innovation actions to support EV market growth and decarbonisation policy targets
• Led 3 international missions in California, Taiwan, Netherlands that converted into direct export opportunities and joint collaboration programmes for UK-developed technology

System Engineer, EV charging features at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) (2015-11 – 2017-10)

• System architect for smart charging and remote charging control features across PHEV and EV programmes – leading functional design, coordination of sub-system deliverables, and validation (DVP, DVM)
• Wrote JLR's first forward strategy for EV charging features (smart charging, smart home integration, V1G and V2G). Coordination of development activities for initial V2G implementation – including setting up consortia for external research collaboration with academia and industry partners

Design Engineer, Benchmarking and Powertrain Technologies at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) (2014-12 – 2015-10)

• Removed €1.1M of annual costs from exhaust gas temperature sensors and ran sensor family phaseout/phase-in across 10+ plants globally. Defined performance, integration and test requirements for automotive sensors. Directed supplier engagement and management on product design, testing and validation
