Pharmacy Assistant/Dispenser - Sharrow Pharmacy - Sheffield, South Yorkshire

I was transferred to Sharrow Pharmacy which is under management of Darnall and Abbeydale pharmacies. It is a fast paced environment as we need to ensure all prescriptions have been assorted and out to patients on the required timeframe. My day to day duties are dealing with prescriptions.
Making sure they have been ordered and received on time for both repeat prescriptions and nomad prescriptions. I am in charge of making sure all nomads are labelled correctly before they are sent to the dispensers to be made up. In the past I have dispensed nomad trays and ensured they have been checked adequately by a pharmacist before they are sent out to the patients.
Other duties which I undertake are general admin duties such as answering telephone queries and chasing up outstanding prescriptions and dealing with in shop customer service. The system has been recently changed to Titan and I am very familiar with it.

I worked at Abbeydale Pharmacy, working as part of an energised team to provide a high-quality service. Daily duties consisted of ensuring prescriptions are processed, which were prepared in a timely manner. I provided excellent over the counter customer service and also dealing with telephone enquiries.
ProScript system is the main programme used to label prescriptions, order stock, manage care homes, substance misuse patients and using the electronic system (EPS). I also coached new colleagues to develop their knowledge in the pharmaceutical industry.

I also split my time in working at Darnall pharmacy. Both pharmacies are owned by the same person. This pharmacy is a busier environment to work in. It is conjoined with the GP surgeries and also the opticians. Day to day work consisted of ensuring prescriptions are processed and dispensed accurately. Managing workflow is important, acute prescriptions are labelled and dispensed before the repeat management prescriptions, as they are prioritised.
