While working at Kidderminster college I have assessed a number of candidates in Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, Special Needs centre's and day nurseries at both level 2 and level 3 within Children's Care Learning and Development as well as the new Young people and Children's Workforce Diploma and Support Teaching and Learning Level 2 and 3. I have also trained staff to reach the A1 Assessors Award which is level 4. I work my own diary which allows me to diversify and address individual needs of all my candidates.

I travel around the local community (generally North Worcestershire) visiting establishments and I deliver the training program chosen by employers. I talk to head teachers, nursery managers and supervisors in all types of settings. I work very closely with the care team and have helped develop written monitoring systems for verification.

I currently oversee all the new assessors to make sure they are ok and addressing the NVQ Code of Practice. I attend regular staff meetings with colleagues, co-coordinator and external verifiers. Within these meetings we address any problems the assessors, students or employers have.

Deputy Superviser - Private Day nursey-West Midlands - West Midlands

While working in the Private Day Nursery I had daily tasks of educating and addressing individual needs of the children. I worked to the curriculum of the Early Years Foundation Stage, therefore assessed children's development, self help skills and any SEN. I assisted the Manager in daily running of the nursery i.e.; supervising staff, training students, liaising with parents and external agencies.

I played an active role in staff meetings and addressed Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding Children. Within the nursery environment I often partook in in-house training to develop a CPD. I talk to all parents with respect and talk to young parents with sensitivity and guidance.

At nursery I worked closely with local schools, local area SENCO as well as Early Years advisors. I constantly work with the children supporting SEN and behaviour management. By working with children with specific needs and addressing IEP's supported by external agencies is very rewarding.

I currently work for Kidderminster College see above description. As well as this post in 2011 I decided to update my school practice in relation to a teaching assistant role. I completed a whole academicyear as a volunteer. I thoroughly enjoyed this and the school was glad of the support I gave them. I helped children with transition into next yr group. I supported all different curriculum areas and 1:1 with behaviour management and keeping all children on task.

Bank staff - Sandwell Social Services

Out of term time I have been a bank contact parent support worker. I have supervised parents and children contacts. I have been a case worker for individual children who are in looked after care. I have collected children from foster carers and supervised them with their parents in a secure childrens centre.

Within this role I had to make judgements on parents ability to continue contact. During contact I have built up hand written 'real time' case files to be used in court proceedings. By giving written and verbal feedback to the relevant social workers during and after contact and making sure all relevant information was recorded made continuity of care secure.

Some contacts have been whole day supervision eg supporting a babies feeding and bathing routines as well as short hourly contacts. My role was also to support parents contacts in the local community such as parks and hospitals. In relation to hospital contact I had to support meetings with parents when children were in long or short term hospital care.

I started my job as a production team member working machinery to produce ice -cream. Within a short while I was promoted to staff trainer showing new members of staff their job roles. Soon after that I was again promoted to supervisor training team leaders and delegating staff making sure they adhered to quality control and health and safety issues. My reason for leaving this job was to start a family and then a new career path.
