I have been working in the UK as an OT since 2016 and my professional experience is spread across various areas, from social services, neuro community service, medical wards, A&E, Acute stroke Unit & Neuro Outliers, ICU, neuro rehab and a fair amount of service development projects. This experience has allowed me to explore the role of OT in different settings & multi-diverse communities and set the link between social services, NHS and private setting in the UK.
I am currently a member of the HCPC, Royal College of OT and the Specialist Section of Neurology Practitioners, I also collaborate with the Portuguese College of Occupational Therapy and Universities. I embrace networking opportunities, reaching out to other colleagues and investigation projects in interest working groups and online platforms.
In addition to my clinical expertise, I have been working in a senior leadership position for tor the last 3.5 years, leading and supporting with recruitment, supervision (B6, TAs, students and apprentices), mentoring and tutoring in diverse and multicultural teams.
Alongside my clinical work, I am finalising a coaching course and have been implementing coaching tools in my day to day practice as way to empower active listening, accountability and ownership. I am passionate about communication and leadership and feel that coaching has given me great tools to empower others to not only identify what matters to them but also encouraging them to set own action plans & achieve meaningful goals.
