I am a specialist technical telecommunications engineer with experience of all aspects of the installation, maintenance and commissioning of data and telephone systems using fibre-optic hard wire for all systems, including CCTV and Access Control. My character has largely been influenced by the four years I spent in the Royal Corps of Signals in the British Army. I consider myself to be a competent, dedicated and resourceful individual with confidence that can offer added value to any organisation as an individual or as part of a team.
I believe that my logical and common sense approach allows me to problem solve and fault find and look beyond the obvious to resolve problems. I am used to working across a variety of environments from brand new buildings, retrofitting older environments, using what I believe to be my easygoing and calm nature. I am always on hand to offer my colleagues support and where needed guidance to maintain a smooth transition from project build through to handover.
Painting and Decorating - Self Employed
(2018-01)
I have been painting and decorating for 7 years now. I started off doing purely commercial work, then changed company after a year to work on new build houses. After a few months with this second firm I then started subcontracting to various firms as well as working for myself, domestic and commercial. I have a very keen eye for detail and believe you're only as good as your last job, I therefore treat every job as if it is my own home and strive for perfection every time.
Production Operative - Jaguar Land Rover - Solihull/Castle Bromwich
(2012-01 - 2018-12)
Over these six years at Jaguar and Land Rover I have worked in numerous departments on ten different models of cars and SUV's. In this time, where I work as a cover man, I have been given a various amount of roles, so I have to be fast adapting to new jobs, as I am covering people that have called in sick or are on leave. I have had a variety of jobs on line one where I could be working on the bare shell of a car, all the way through to the final phase of locking down cars and the handover to JLR's courier.
Due to working in so many different areas of the company I have had to use a number of systems, including where I have to be able to locate every fault possible on every part of the car.
Installation Technician - Royal Signals - HM Forces
(2008-01 - 2012-12)
Training and then working as an Installation Technician in the Armed Forces. Once training was completed and I was in the field, I worked on many different projects. I was responsible for carrying out fibre optic and copper installations from the planning stage, to the testing and commissioning stage.
Remaining physically fit for my work was vital in order to maintain the highest possible standard. I am used to working in all conditions for varying periods of time. I am trained to work at height, and for working in confined spaces.
So I am used to working in many different environments, and working to deadlines.
